Two steps: download your course certificate from the state portal, then apply for your non-resident LTC. Here's exactly how.
Step one
Visit the Massachusetts MIRCS Unified Portal: gunportal.mass.gov/mircsUnifiedPortal
From the main portal page, select: Personal
After logging in, you will be asked to verify your account by text message or phone. Complete the verification process to continue.
Once logged in, select: Firearms Instructor Portal
Select: Search for Instructor Certificates
Enter the following information: Class Date (the date you attended your Alpha Pistol Massachusetts LTC class), Last Name, and Date of Birth.
For the certificate, select: LTC-039 – MASSACHUSETTS BASIC FIREARM SAFETY COURSE - USCCA
Select the Instructor Certification Number: BFS00007176
Click: Search — your certificate should appear in the search results.
Under the Action column, click the green Download button. Download and save your certificate — keep a copy for your records.
Step two
Once you have downloaded your certificate, you can begin your Massachusetts LTC application.
Return to the Massachusetts MIRCS Unified Portal: gunportal.mass.gov/mircsUnifiedPortal
Select: Personal
Log in using the account you created when accessing your certificate.
You will again be asked to verify your account by text message or phone. Complete the verification process.
Select: Firearms Licensing Portal
Select: Start New Application
For License Type, select: Non-Resident Temporary LTC
Complete the information requested on the application.
